About Shimrit
My name is Shimrit Elisar. I am an author, an online dating expert and a freelance marketing consultant.
I have over 15 years’ experience of Internet social platforms that predates the invention of the Web itself. Five of those years were spent researching and monitoring online communications on some of the UK’s most high-profile online communities, such as the BBC forums, ITV and Sony Playstation.
From February 2005 - May 2007, I was working for Allegran Limited, the UK’s largest provider of online dating services whose sites include Loopylove , GirlsDateForFree and Pocado, among others.
I started off as a moderator/customer advisor, assisting hundreds of people with their online dating experience on a daily basis. During my time at Allegran, I had the chance to study thousands of dating profiles and research many hundreds of dating case studies. Following that, I became the company’s marketing manager.
Since May 2007 I have been working as a freelance marketing consultant.
I hold a degree in Creative & Media Writing where I specialised in short fiction.

Shimrit Elisar is an online dating and socialising expert with over 15 years’ experience. In fact, her online experience predates the web itself, but she doesn’t talk about that so much for fear of sounding somewhat nerdy. She discovered the Internet when she was 16 and was one of the first women to use IRC, the Internet’s first chat network (and, for a while at least, the youngest). She spent five years as an online moderator/customer advisor, working on various high-profile online communities and dating sites. She has probably seen more dating profiles and forum posts than most people will see in their whole lifetime and has helped countless people solve their dating problems.
When not busy writing books or talking about herself in third person, she works for Allegran Limited, the company responsible for five of the UK’s top 10 dating sites (according to Hitwise)
